Challenge
My Almost Famous Family is a successful series on CBBC following the escapades of a family of musical kids.
Kerb were commissioned to create a suite of games that would drive the narrative in this unique online bridging story. The biggest challenge was the tight timescales for delivery with three sprints running from December 2009 to early February 2010.
What We Did
A tight schedule required us to deliver a mix of games based on existing and bespoke engines.
The brief was open-ended enough for us to adapt the narrative concepts to fit our technology, enabling attention to be focused on developing engaging versions of the show's characters.
What Happened
The project was a huge success being the most popular part of the CBBC’s website for weeks after launch, successfully creating a digital bridge between the two seasons of the TV series.
Our ability to modify our game engines to meet different narrative requirements allowed us to deploy high value content at a competitive budget.
Kerb’s design team have yet again proven their ability to extend existing brands into new formats, providing a rich source of content for future development.
